New Principal, New Ideas

New principal, Debra Aceves-Torres, has stepped in and is taking over the campus with all its challenges, and is loving it.

“I am loving every facet of Madison’s faculty, students, and staff,” Torres said.

Her first order of business is to make sure everyone on campus recognizes her.

“We’re just making sure students and faculty are aware that I am here, I am working feverishly and I am supporting them,” she added.

She plans to instill more systems, shape up the ones that aren’t working or being followed and make sure everyone on campus graduates.

Torres enjoys every aspect of campus life. Whether it’s athletics or fine arts, she like seeing her students shine doing whatever it is they do. Because of all the things that comes with the campus, she’s very happy to be here.

“Knowing Madison is the best high school in Northeast ISD, I definitely feel honored that I am the principal here,” she said. “Plus, being a Maverick, I can wear my boots everyday.”
