The new film “IT”, revitalizes the 1990 two-part miniseries and 1986 Stephen King book and gives us one of the best horror/thriller movies of the past few years.

Pennywise, played by Bill Skarsgard, does a fantastic job of portraying a more creepy and devious clown; unlike Tim Curry’s more outgoing and funny behavior in the miniseries.

The only way Pennywise will make you laugh this go around is nervously, which is fine because what Pennywise lacks in humor, the kids make up for.

The movie takes place in 1980s Derry, Maine; unlike the miniseries and book that takes place in the 1950s. So it is filled to the brim with nostalgia such as: classic 80s band t-shirts, a running gag about one of the character’s love for New Kids On The Block, classic arcade games and movies from the time like A Nightmare on Elm Street 5.

In then end, you get a visually appealing comedy drama that will make you come back for more.

My rating: 8/10
