It was 3 am and I still couldn’t sleep. I’d been laying down since 9 pm, I was tossing and turning trying to get comfortable but I just couldn’t. In the blink of an eye, I automatically got goosebumps when I turned around for the thousandth time and immediately felt someone watching me.
I didn’t want to look out my window but I just had the feeling that whatever was looking at me was outside my window. Hiding under the blankets I’m saying in a whisper, “it’s going to be okay. It’s going to be okay.” When I finally got the nerve to look I saw a quick shadow move from one side of my room to the other. Now I was petrified. I swiftly went back under my blanket and immediately started praying.
My door randomly swung open then my lights started flickering off and on. Crying I yelled for my pops, but he never came. Nobody came and I was yelling from the top of my lungs. As frightened as I was I knew I had to get up and see what was going on. Nobody was home, which was odd because it was 3 am, but when I went outside the cars were still in the driveway. I ran to Ms. Pens’ house but nobody came to the door. Next, I ran to Mr. Torres’s and still nobody. Where had everyone gone?
Crying outside my house I was clueless about everything. It was getting harder for me to breathe. I just wanted to know where everyone had gone. Was there anyone alive? What would happen to me? How was I supposed to know if I was only one left? Was this all a dream?
