Lady Hoopsters Hoping for Success

Reported by Leah Austin

With losses against Johnson and Roosevelt, our varsity ladies’ basketball team is trying to find their stride. Despite their 3W streak in December, the team still stands 5-12 with the season deep into district action. Tonight, The Lady Mavs will take the court against Reagan, here at home in a game honoring Teacher Appreciation.

A win in this game could be the push they need for a spot in the playoffs, which Coach Hastings says is their team goal. This season has quite obviously been a struggle, but will the odds soon be in their favor? With games this upcoming Tuesday and Saturday against LEE and MacArthur, our Lady Mavs will have the chance to prove themselves.

You can come this Friday to support your Mavs here at home, and next week at Littleton Gym. Only ten district games are remaining in the season and it’s still unclear whether this season will end on a high note for the Mavs. We will keep you informed.
