Stock Show Drives Into Town

By Erin Rabel

The stock show and rodeo are a huge deal to the people in the city of San Antonio. There are FFA  livestock shows, concerts, and a carnival. The events last for over two weeks and the days are jam-packed with things to do.

The biggest and most well-known part of this event is the concerts held in the AT&T Center. This year’s concert lineup included shows for Toby Keith, Lady A, Tim Mcgraw, Ludacris, Ramon Ayala, and Bravos del Norte just to name a few. However, before the shows, people got to watch all the rodeo events like bull riding and barrel racing. The night can last until midnight depending on the length of the show. The night Tim McGraw showed was one of the biggest nights for the rodeo this year.

Aside from the rodeo competitions and concerts, one of the bigger parts in relation to our school is the Livestock shows which can last for days at a time. Madison FFA students are able to show off their livestock projects and are able to earn lots of scholarship money. There may not have been any winners from this school year, but the shows were great nonetheless.

To most everyone in the city of San Antonio, the stock show and rodeo are weeks of fair fun and even some friendly competition. This is an event where people are able to put on their best and go out for a night of excitement and joy.
