Breast Cancer Awareness Month By : Isabella Gutierrez

Breast Cancer  Awareness Month is a month where we congratulate survivors for fighting this battle and support those who still suffer through the battle .  It is a month we remember those we have lost and pledge ourselves to working toward a cure.

Breast Cancer can happen to men and woman, but it’s very rare for men to have breast cancer. The first symptoms of breast cancer are usually painless although some might feel a prickly sensation or  a lump on the chest.

More than three-and-a-quarter million women  in our country are living in the aftermath of a breast cancer diagnosis. The median age of a diagnosis of breast cancer is 62. Women in the  USA have a 1 in 8 chance of developing breast cancer .
