Forever Raining

I wish it would rain forever

With the sky leaving music notes at my window

Just for me to hear.

Even the thunder joins in to sing its song.

Purple pops into the melody like popcorn.

Do my ears deceive me,

Or is it really the rain calling my name –

Pulling me  

In and out of a trance-

Giving me hope and wonder?

Like a young child at a candy store,

I’m stuck.

But once the melody stops

And the music notes dry up

Along with thunder ending its song

Reality hits me.

Leaving my heart broken like a shattered vase

Sometimes –

Just sometimes I wish it would rain forever.
