Black history month goes on through the month of February. It began in 1976, American’s Bicentennial year. The reason we still need Black History month is because society should not forget how African-Americans came to this country, nor how racism still hurts our people. The United States of American needs Black History Month for our new little ones coming into life everyday. They have the right to know who fought, when they fought, and why they fought or took a stand. Black History month allows us to understand our past and why we should change our future.
