The Faces Of Black History Month

Black History Month is a tribute to all Black men and women who have made a mark in the U.S. and have contributed   to the positive promotion of Black race. One major contributor is Martin Luther King Jr. because he fought for the equal rights for all black people. Rosa Parks, another famous figure, stood up to the white people that wanted to take her seat on the bus, leading to  the the bus boycott that financially hurt the bus company and eventually caused laws to change. Jackie Robinson, one of the best Black athletes, was the first to play on an all white baseball team. His courage led to the integration of baseball and eventually other sports. Overall, Black people have played an important role in building a stronger America, so the tribute we have for them is a good and necessary thing.
