Come On, Get Happy

Reagan’s first lip dub will happen next Thursday, May 8 at 4:15 p.m.

Anyone is welcome to be a part of this event. The school will be lip-synching to Pharrell William’s popular tune “Happy.” Bring your school spirit and a school-appropriate prop or uniform that represents you or your team and makes you happy.

If you don’t know what a lip dub is, look one up on youtube and you’ll find some from hundreds of schools including Churchill, MacArthur and McKinney.

SPECIFICS:

1. Clubs/Organizations or Teams that have made arrangements with the yearbook staff (Nathan Ryan) will  line up the independence hallway like a parade, standing together. Your specific spot will be labeled.

2. Clubs/Organizations or Teams will be organized alphabetically starting at the main office. Band will line the walkway starting at the Arizona hallway, leading to the gym and dancers will be outside the dance studio, past the locker rooms, lined toward the west gym.

3. Special lip synchers will have cues to come in the center of the hall to lip sync their part. We will contact those people separately with their specific cue and they will have a marker on the floor of the independence hallway.

4. We will finish the dub in the west gym with a pep rally-like shot (cheerleaders can lead everyone in a chant and get the crowd pumped up).

5. You don’t have to be in a club to be in the lip dub; just line the hall like a parade and fill the gaps or wait in the gym for the last shot. Please don’t crowd in the middle of the hallway because that’s the filming track.

6. Please spread the word and tell all your friends. If you want your club or team to be a part of this and haven’t yet given us notice, please contact Nathan Ryan (the director) at nryan6476@stu.neisd.net by May 2 to reserve your spot. Extensive planning will be happening over the weekend, but what makes this activity special is that it can also be spontanious.

7. Follow Reagan Yearbook on twitter @reaganyearbook for further updates and to stay informed.

Here are the lyrics to the song. Study up. You don’t know exactly what you will be singing or where you will be singing it (lip synchers will know before the 8th, don’t worry)

“Happy”

[Verse 1:]
It might seem crazy what I’m about to say
Sunshine she’s here, you can take a break
I’m a hot air balloon that could go to space
With the air, like I don’t care baby by the way[Chorus:]
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do[Verse 2:]
Here come bad news talking this and that, yeah,
Well, give me all you got, and don’t hold it back, yeah,
Well, I should probably warn you I’ll be just fine, yeah,
No offense to you, don’t waste your time
Here’s why

[Chorus]

Hey, come on

[Bridge:]
(happy)
Bring me down
Can’t nothing bring me down
My level’s too high
Bring me down
Can’t nothing bring me down
I said (let me tell you now)
Bring me down
Can’t nothing bring me down
My level’s too high
Bring me down
Can’t nothing bring me down
I said

[Chorus 2x]

Hey, come on

(happy)
Bring me down… can’t nothing…
Bring me down… my level’s too high…
Bring me down… can’t nothing…
Bring me down, I said (let me tell you now)

[Chorus 2x]

Come on
