Students carry these books like texts books, and bust them open every free moment they get.

Taking the Test by Storm

Students study for weeks on end, and, when the day comes, they take this test head on and strive to make the perfect score. The SAT or Scholastic Aptitude Test is one of the most dreaded tests for juniors and seniors. The first test this new school year is this Sat. Oct. 9. and students are expected to check in at 7:30 a.m.
The test has several sections over math, reasoning, writing, and reading. The purpose of the test is to predict how well you will do in college. Many juniors and seniors believe they are ready to take the beast on.
“I’m prepare for it, but I do plan on studying a little more so that I won’t go in and take it for granted. I will already have it down; I don’t want to get stuck on the 2nd question,” Herbert Holden, senior, said.
The first time you take the test can be a starting ground for where you need to work to. Taking it multiple times is a great way to prepare for your future.
“It really is a good idea in the long run, because it sets a foundation to set your college on,” Traci Lancaster, senior, said.
A lot of students believe it is a positive thing. It tests a student’s knowledge and skills and really shows what each student needs to work on for their college careers. The test highlights a student’s high and low points.
“I know I’m going to have a little bit of trouble for the SAT. Yet, that’s the fun of it. I think it’s a good thing to test your ability and all the basics that you need,” Ian Stewart, junior, said.
For any information for registering for future SAT’s go to collegeboard.com. At this site you can also find information about fee wavers for students on free or reduced lunch. After you register, collegeboard will supply a list of things that you should bring to be prepared. It is a good idea and a necessity to bring a pencil, pen, and calculator for sure.
The SAT offers a way to send scores to the students home, Roosevelt and any college.
The test is not simple nor easy, but if each student takes the time to prepare, has a good nights rest, and a good attitude we know that all Rough Riders will succeed.
