Senior wrestlers prepare for state

Two wrestlers qualified for state this year. Seniors Grant Oshiro and Andres Farrera both placed in the top four in their weight category at region Jan. 31-Feb. 1.

For Farrera, it’s his second trip to state in two years. Wrestling since he was 10, he’s hoping to place at state this year.

“I’ve been in wrestling for two years for the school,” Farrera said. “I’m looking forward going to state. I’m going to go out their and play my best.”

Senior Grant Oshiro will also represent at state this weekend.

“I’ve enjoyed every step of the way,” Oshiro said. ” I feel ready and interested for competition. I will go out their and do what I have to do.” 

Last year 10 wrestlers went to region and three competed at state. This year four competed at region and two qualify for state. State competition will be in Pearland.
