After lots of practice and hard work, dedicated students and PTSA and community volunteers made this year’s fashion show a great success.

”The students were able to involve themselves in a production that allowed their talents, personality and skills to be highlighted,” said Sonja Armstrong from PSTA.

Students from Fashion Design class along with local vendors were able to show the season’s fashion on the show Feb. 21. Adults paid $10 to get in and students paid $8. All proceeds went to raise money for project graduation.

Project graduation is an event to keep all seniors safe graduation night. It is a safe place after graduation where seniors can go to spent time together to celebrate graduation. It’s important for our graduates to enjoy an alcohol-free event with their peers safely, Armstrong said. This event supports MADD’s mission (Mothers against drunk drivers).

Armstrong said being safe is what really matters to PTSA and parents of 2014 graduates.

The more money PTSA fundraises, the less graduates have to pay for the event. They will soon hopefully raise enough money so seniors only have to pay $20 to get in, instead of $50. This did not happen with the funds from the fashion show alone, but they are not giving up anytime soon. The next event they’re planning is the “Used Book Drive.” Donate used books, CD’s and DVD’s by March 21.

PTSA will continue to fundraise and plan events like the Fashion show to raise enough money for Seniors.

Project Graduation is at Time Warner Park. Flyers for the event are located in the main office.
