College and Career Center to Launch College Application Week

By Oscar Ramirez

With a major college deadline the week after Thanksgiving, the College and Career Center is hosting a college application week for seniors next week .

”College application week is intended to get seniors excited about their college applications and give them opportunities to submit applications to multiple universities before Thanksgiving Break,” College Advisor Amanda Hasselle said.

Hasselle and the College and Career Center have a whole week of activities planned. On Monday she will be helping seniors apply during all four lunches. There will also be a representative from St. Mary’s University from 11:30-2:25.

On Tuesday Mr. Jarvis & Mrs. Young will help out students in the college application drive in Rough Rider building in the 3rd floor computer labs (RR347 and RR349). Haselle is hoping that at least 350 seniors will attend .

Pennants in the college center

The college center is promoting college applications to state schools and beyond during college application week next week.

On Wednesday will be the same as Monday except the representative will be from Incarnate word, and students can meet them during lunches.

On Thursday students can still apply at the College & Career center for help on your application (Don’t forget: Texas A&M University, The University of Texas, and UTSA have December 1 application dead lines).

On Friday they will have a big wall with pennants for seniors that already applied to colleges to place their pennants and students that applied will have free pizza and a celebration in the cafeteria. Hasselle is that over half of the seniors will be able to participate.
