One Act Play to Compete in Bi-District meet
Individual medalists at UIL OAP: Lawhon, Morgan, DeLaRosa, and Smith.
This year’s one act play, Black Angel by Michael Cristofer, is set to compete in bi-district this Wednesday after placing among the top three at the district meet last week. In addition to the play’s recognition, individual students received awards as well. Stage Manager Candice de la Rosa received an Honor Tech Award, Nathaniel Lawhon playing Martin Engel received an All Star Cast Award, Weston Smith playing August Moreault received an honorable mention All Star Cast Award, and Deja Morgan playing Simone Engel received the Best Actress award at district.
“It was such a great feeling,” Smith said. “We felt that our hard work was finally acknowledged after all these years. And we can’t wait to give it all we’ve got at the next level.”
