TSA students earn state awards

Forty-six students traveled to the TSA State Competition in Waco April 9- 11, and 27 walked away finalists for national competition.

Among the top winners included junior Ashlyn Bain, and senior Alex Lee who got Gold Level achievement, and, along with sophomore Jason Conklin, made the TSA National Honor Society. The three are also leaders of the local TSA chapter.

Bain showcased her knowledge of engineering by taking a written and an oral exam. She came away with many awards, taking eighth place in the tech bowl, first place recycling, and first place in photography.

“It was a great learning experience,” Bain said. I hope more students get involved with this organization.”

Conklin along with his team of web designers placed seventh overall in the competition.

“It was fun, we got to hang out with friends and have a really good time,” Conklin said.

Bronze Level Achievement: Jason Conklin, Jacob Davis, Harrison Wissel-Littmann, Brenda Valdez, Richard Aaron Zamora, Isabella Leighton, Ashlyn Bain, Victor Villanueva, Fabiola McDaniel
