Something Handmade for Mom

By Angel Sabater|

Mother’s Day was Sunday May 10.

To surprise their moms with something wonderful, on Tuesday, May 5 during all lunches, the Molly Pruitt library hosted Teen Time: Mothers Day Corsages for teens to make corsages by hand for their moms, grandmas or someone they consider “mom.”

“I came because I love my mom and wanted to make a flowery corsage for her,” junior Jason Villarreal said. “I always come to Teen Time and this time it was Mother’s Day themed and I thought what a perfect idea to make a hand made crafted corsage to make for my mom.”

Many students came and made this crafty item from the heart like student, Treyvon Mitchell. “I love my mom and came mostly for that, to make something from the heart for my mom,” Mitchell said. “I could have gone to the store and bought my mom a present, but I came to this event and made a corsage from the heart and I think that it’s important to make something from the heart, because your expressing your love for your mom through making something hand made by you.”
