David Bowie dies of cancer

After battling cancer for about 18 months, the singer, songwriter, artist, and producer, David Bowie died on Jan. 10.

Bowie, was a singer like no other, he was a legend. With albums such as David Bowie, Hunky Dory, The Man Who Sold The World and others, Bowie served as an inspiration to both fans and many musical artists.

Space Oddity was first released under a self titled album in 1969. Three years later, Bowie re-released the record under the name Space Oddity as seen above.

After his death was announced on Monday, fans quickly reacted in the media about the unexpected news.

Artists like Kanye West, Madonna, Penelope Cruz and others, were few of many who posted about Bowie, showing their love for the star and respectively paying a last tribute.

Two days prior to his death, Bowie turned 69 and released his final work, Blackstar.

The album now not only serves as a memory of his long successful career, but also as a tribute to the now gone David Bowie.
