Deadpool opens today after seven year wait

Deadpool finally opens today after weeks of hype and ticket presales. Lines were out the door at Live Oak theaters last night for an early showing. The moment tickets went on sale, fans from all around rolled in to get their tickets.

Deadpan becoming a movie has been on pause since 2004 when Fox and Marvel first announced the plans for the movie. In 2009, Gavin Hood’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine rolled in to theaters debuting Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) onto the big screen, making a lot of people wonder if that was a preview of whats to come. Like most Marvel movies, X-Men Origins: Wolverine had a post-credit scene to it. SPOILER WARNING: IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN X-Men Origins: Wolverine, LEAVE THE ARTICLE OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE BECAUSE THIS ARTICLE WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!

In X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Wade Wilson’s debut had Reynolds spinning katanas and literally cutting shots fired in half; but things changed. Later on in the movie, a scientist (keep in mind this is the same scientist who gave Wolverine his accelerated healing, and Adimantium bones and claws) named William Stryker (Danny Huston) kidnaps presumed dead Wade Wilson, and sews his mouth shut in a humorous way of getting the merc with a mouth to shut his mouth. Later on in the movie, Wolverine and brainwashed Wade Wilson fight to the death. Of course, Wolverine won, by cutting off Wade’s head with the help of Victor Creed, otherwise known as Sabertooth (Liev Schreiber) causing Wade’s body to plummet to the bottom of a silo, but he wasn’t dead. The post-credit scene at the end of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, shows Wade lifting his own head out of the rubble of the silo he destroyed with his hand, giving all who watched to post credit scene a sneak peek of what was to come seven years later…
With all said and done, the new Deadpool movie, directed by Tim Miller, will have a different story line for Wade Wilson then X-Men Origins: Wolverine did in 2009, giving fans a more funny, and comedic look at Deadpool than they got seven years prior.

After being diagnosed with terminal cancer, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) gets offered a program that will give him accelerated healing powers, but an ugly face. Not wanting to be a superhero in the first place, Wade finds out his girlfriend, Vanessa Carlylse (Morena Baccarin), has been kidnapped , causing Wade to take on the alter ego of Deadpool, become a superhero, and fight to save his girl and makes some… questionable… new friends along the way.

Deadpool opens today in all major theaters. Brace yourselves for long lines.
