Easy Costume Ideas for a Fun Halloween

By AJ Ballard |

Halloween: a time of scares and fun costumes, of laughs and pranks, of candy and upset stomachs. October 31 is an international day to express a person’s love for a character. Of course, not everyone has the time (or the money) for an extravagant costume. But for every problem, there is a solution. Here are three easy and simple Halloween costumes to make your day a memorable one.

1) A Basic Bee

You can be a bee for little to no money.

You can be a bee for little to no money.

The first thing needed to get this outfit in order is a simple yellow t-shirt, and a black marker. Draw the stripes of the bee however you please, and now you’re halfway done. While it’d be just as easy to buy antennae and a wings set from the dollar store, a simple headband and pipe cleaners will suffice just as well. To make your wings, all you really need is some more pipe cleaner and basic picture to recreate. Makeup is optional, as is completing the outfit with black jeans and a cute pair of partly golden shoes.

2) A Cliche Cat
Almost every girl is bound to consider being a cat. It’s the most basic Halloween costume, but thankfully it’s also the easiest to achieve. Get a pair of cat ears and a tail, or make them with pipe cleaners, throw on a black t-shirt and call it a day. Draw some cat whiskers for good measure, but really, as long as you’ve got the cute little button nose, you’re all set.

3) A Cold Queen
We all remember when Frozen came out. Kids are still dressing up as Elsa and Anna, and Olaf covers every little thing in every little store. It’s easy to throw on a blue dress and call it a night, but applying a thin and precise layer of cold winter tones can really pull your look together. A simple layer of eyeshadow, some white eyeliner for dramatic effect, and boom, you’ve got yourself an Elsa. Of course, this look is free for guys to pull off too. Who doesn’t love a fresh spin on an old idea anyway?
