Opinion: Passing periods should be longer

Students don’t have enough time in between classes. The problem that students are getting to class late because there isn’t enough time  in the passing period. The passing period should at least be longer by two minutes because of multiple reasons.

First, because getting up and down the stairs in such a rush is already dangerous but when there are so many students, it’s even more dangerous.

Second, the time it takes to get from first floor AS building to third floor RR building is about four minutes and 24 seconds with no crowds, and that’s not counting when students walk slower that turtles.

Lastly, students need a longer break in between classes to relax their minds. Students need a break from sitting in a class for 50 minutes; they need to socialize and restart their brains to sit in another class for fifty minutes.

Teachers and staff might not agree with this because they think students might take advantage and still be late because they’re either playing around or talking. But students need to take in the responsibility of getting to class on time with these two extra minutes.
