On Thursday, Feb. 16 the AVID program will be hosting a college fair at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria with hopes of targeting students.

This is the first time avid has hosted an event like this as usually, college fairs are hosted at the Blossom athletic center but this time,”why not bring it to our campus” said Brock Stewart, AVID teacher.

Stewart explained many times in the past, Roosevelt students could not attend college and network events due to distance. It is also  great way of networking for students on their way to college or not. This event is not just for seniors going to college it is for everyone.

Many vendors plan to be there to offer jobs to current students looking for job opportunities.

Texas Colleges and Universities

So if you need a job this may be something you want to attend. There will also be a variety of trade schools for students that are looking to learn about specific job skills after college. Of course, for those that are looking to attend college, there will also be a range of colleges and universities including Texas A&M, University of Incarnate Word, Saint Mary’s, and many others.

If you are looking for immediate job opportunities, a path after high school, or simply want extra credit from your teachers this is an event for you.
