Riderettes earned second place in the nation.

The JROTC competition teams, the Riderettes and San Juan guard attended nationals in Kentucky and placed second and fourth overall in unarmed drill.

Last year the Riderettes placed first in unarmed drill. This year they went to competition with their heads held high and hope on their shoulders.  Ultimately Riderettes took second place.

“It [the competition] was stressful because we were winners last year and we had to try to hold our title as winners. I feel like everyone had high expectations for us, ” Jasmine Martinez said

It was a healthy amount of stress that led to victory with the top schools.

Their hard work, stress, and Monday through Saturday practice paid off also with the male San Juan Guard students who placed fourth overall out of the fifty top schools.
