Prom tickets now on sale

This year’s prom falls on May 13, from 7-11 p.m. at Noah’s Events (noahseventvenue.com). The theme of prom is a Masquerade Voyage. There are going to be five different rooms and each room has its own themes of masks from different countries.

“It’s going to be big and it’s going difficult (with so much going on). Every room is a different place in the world, so it’s like super crazy, but I think its going to be fine,” junior Melanie Monet said. Prom committee has been planing since September. There are around 15 members of prom committee.

One way Roosevelt is different is the way we pick prom king and queen – by fundraising. The couple that raises the most money for charity will be crowned king and queen. Currently 15 people are running for prom king and queen, and one of them is Lilliana Ontiveros.

Ontiveros is running for prom Queen and for a good cause. Ontiveros’s grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer which inspired her to fundraise for prom, when she found out running was for charity and not popularity she just had to run.

Tickets for prom are available at the school store during all four lunches for $40. The price will go up each week as we get closer to the event.
