The volleyball team ended their season on a high note with a victory against Lee Oct. 20, breaking a nearly four-year streak of no district wins. The last district game they won was also against Lee, Oct. 8, 2013.

“People don’t see the hard work we put in,” senior Kaylynn Stigger said. “All they see is the record and now we have proved our talent in a way that can’t be denied; a way people will recognize.”

The girls practiced two hours each day. They finished 5-28, and 1-11 in district.

While the team’s goal was to win five district games to make it into playoffs winning one to break the ‘streak’ was great on its own, giving the seniors their only district win in their high school careers.

“Communication, trust, and positivity: three things we had to work the hardest on over the years. But that game it came out, and it paid off,” senior Nadia Rodriguez said.
