With the recent ending of the first semester there are students who haven’t received credit due to absences. Therefore teachers have given the option of Saturday school, an opportunity to receive hours, gaining credit for the classes you passed.

For the first time students will have the opportunity to attend Thursday school, a one time event.

Assistant principal Thomas Brooks encourages students to take the opportunity to receive credit and catch up on school work and to become the best student they can.

“The purpose of Saturday school is to relearn the material you have missed while being absent in class,” Brooks said.  “Students have challenges and we recognize that, therefore we make opportunities like tutoring and Saturday school to help our students become the best they can be.”

Students have dates in fall and spring for Saturday School if they fall behind on attendance hours.

Saturday school will be taking place on Feb. 3 with an additional opportunity for students to regain hours at Thursday night school this week. These are the last chances for students to get the hours they need from Fall 2017.

“We try to find ways to support our students, we simply just want whats best for them,” Brooks said.
