Where I’m Going: Kobi Jackson

By Ana Calderon |

Senior Kobi Jackson.

This is the first in a series about individual seniors and how they chose their colleges. |

Senior year is a very productive year for students, FAFSA applications, college applications, and senior events.

Senior Kobi Jackson was accepted into her first choice school; The University of Houston in Victoria Texas. Jackson has also applied to Texas A&M in Kingsville, and The University of Incarnate Word.

When Jackson was only four or five, she would watch The University of Houston commercials on TV while she visited family in Victoria, and decided then that it was her dream school.

Jackson plans to major into Early Childhood Education. She would like to become a grade dance teacher.

“I’ve always loved little kids and helping others, so when I was growing up involved with PALS and other organizations that helped kids with education. I just knew that I wanted to be a teacher and help make a difference in other lives,” Jackson said.

She looks forward to helping others in education and making a difference in the world.

Like many students Jackson is the first family member that will be attending to college.

“I feel proud of myself because I will be the first one in my family to go to college and I feel really accomplished because I’ve worked so hard these past four years and just to know that I got into my dream school means so much.”
