Seventeen year old Simon Spier (Nick Robinson) is an average high school student except he’s gay, which is very complicated for him. He is a closeted kid but who falls in love with another fellow closeted kid.
They both are secret and don’t know each other. He tries to find his anonymous lover while trying to find himself as well.
Simon’s secret gets threatened and he must stop hiding and come to term with his identity.
It relates to now and past generations when LGBT youth were bullied for their “differences.” The movie goes on and he begins to accept himself and finds love.
