The Neighbourhood Never Changes

The Neighbourhood released a new album in September called Ever Changing, to finish out the four-part project, Hard to Imagine the Neighborhood Ever Changing. The title is fitting as their music remains in a similar style to their first album, A Certain Attitude.

The band originated in Newbury Park, California and was formed in 2011. They are considered American rock, indie pop, and electro pop. They have six members including Jesse Rutherford, Zachary Abels, Michael Margott, Bryan Sammis, Jeremy Freedman, and Brandon Fried.

Their music has pertained an older grunge feel despite being from the late 2000’s. All of their songs are similar, but are different enough for all of them to be enjoyable. The newest album is great. It carries the feel of their older music, yet it brings a new perspective.

On their new album they have the songs Dust, Scary Love, 24/7, and several more. All the songs have newer topics, and are more related love than previous albums.

The title of their new album is true to their music. It would be hard to imagine The Neighbourhood ever actually changing, because they really haven’t. That may seem like a turn-off to some, since many people like to see bands change and mature over time, but anyone who likes any of their previous music would love the new album.

The new album is fantastic, and worth a listen to for old fans and new ones. Anyone into an alternative or indie style would love this new album.
