The Rough Riders are currently 24-12 overall and 11-3 in 6A Region IV District 27 and with a big win against Brandeis in round one of the playoffs with a score of 61-54 they are going into the this game with a lot of momentum.

“Last week’s game against Brandeis has given us a lot of momentum going into this game and all we can do is just practice hard and prepare until gametime comes,” junior Rashod Owens said.”

But they can’t be too comfortable for too long because waiting for them in round two of the playoffs is the Cibolo Steele Knights.

Now Steele is 26-8 overall and 12-2 in 6A Region IV District 26 and with a six-game winning streak under their belts they will be going into this game with their heads high.

Now the last time these teams met was in December of 2015 with a Steele victory over Roosevelt 71-58.

“That was four years ago,” Owens said.”It was a completely different team. There’s nothing we can do about it but just worry about this year.”

So if you don’t want to miss the game of a lifetime then come see these two teams face off at San Antonio Veterans Memorial on Friday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.
