Only the second test into their 19-20 season, the girls basketball team won six in a row at the Harlandale tournament and were named tournament champions.
“All our hard work actually paid off,” senior Jennifer Pavon said. “It feels good bringing a win back home to Roosevelt.”
Senior Kemara Hyson won tournament MVP and seniors Mariela Taylor and Mikayla Christmas won all-tournament. This brings the girls record to 6-1, bringing the girls motivation after a tragic one-point loss in their season opener.
“That gives us motivation to keep going, to keep pushing,” Taylor said.
The girls take on New Braunfels tonight in New Braunfels.
