On Saturday April 18, 2015 the Wood Theatre Arts department competed in the Spring Speech Contest where we received 4^th place. 28 students competed for Wood and they received 56 UIL points.

I am so happy that STAAR testing is over . I am very excited to move on to better things. All I hear in the hallways right now is that I hope I passed my STAAR. I feel like there has been a weight lifted off of my shoulders because I was very nervous prior to testing.  I studied, I stressed and I got very frustrated.  I often wonder why there has to be so much emphasis on one test.  Why are we students judged on one performance.  I also wonder why the state and federal government do not view how our teachers would assess us over a one time test that is nothing like the hands on experience we need.  But until the requirements change, I will accept it and do my very best, that is what I ask of myself.  Congratulations Wranglers, we made it another year!
