NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEGUE (NFL) SEASON BEGINS THIS MONTH by Desiree Coffey

Like our awesome Wood Football teams; the NFL has kicked off the season.  Already I am hearing predictions on which NFL team will win this season’s Super Bowl.  CBS Sports panelist have the Patriots, Colts, Broncos, Packers, and Seahawks making the playoffs, but none of the panelists believed that the Seahawks make it to the Super Bowl this year.   Much love goes out to the Jets who are picked to finish last – Don’t let the negative press get you down!   In my opinion, I see a “STAR” shining bright – it’s Dallas Cowboys all the way!!!!!  I want to know what you’re predicting – send me your pick.

MORTAL KOMBAT X

Retail sales show that Mortal Kombat X (PS4 and Xbox One) is the bestselling game for the first half of 2015.  But some are disappointed that Warner Bros. has officially announced the cancellation of the last-generation PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.  The company felt that the developers couldn’t meet the quality standards set by the game’s current-generation version. If you’ve played the game you’ve noticed some new characters, like Cassie Cage (Johnny Cage’s and Sonya Blade’s daughter) and Kotal Kahn– but don’t worry the game still has the classic characters like Sub-Zero and Scorpion.  If you’ve played the game, tell me what you think?  Which version do you prefer – Classic or version X?

EXCUSE THEIR DUST AND TRAFFIC by Desiree Coffey

School has started and you’re probably missing those stress-free summer days.  Suddenly, days are now filled with a list of time managing activities and deadlines.  Find comfort in knowing you’re not alone.  So, to help you stay on track – and on time – please remember to allow a few extra minutes in the morning for the additional traffic on Nacogdoches Road.   You’ve probably noticed the street workers coning off sections of the road.  The extra traffic might be a little frustrating, but our city workers are repairing and renovating the sidewalks.  This will provided a safer walking and handicap accessible surface for all of us to enjoy!    Use the extra time to daydream – WINTER BREAK!!! ww1 ww2
