Do The “Write” Thing
I interviewed Mrs. Utley about the Do the “Write” Thing Texas Challenge.
She said it is an anti-violence essay contest which is sponsored by the judges
of Bexar County. It is open to all 7th and 8th grade students around the nation. All of the NEISD
middle schools participate. Two finalists are chosen from each middle school, and this year’s
Bradley winners are Nicole Greco and Jarron T. Wardell (both are 8th graders).
All of the county’s finalists are honored at a luncheon in downtown San Antonio, and their
writings are published in a book. Congratulations to our 2012 DTWT winners!
