Born With Monsters
By: Jacy Hornsby
walking down the street, you get mugged,
raped, kidnapped, shot to death.
close your eyes, fall off the bed.
divorce,
abuse, lies, bullying
drugs, con artists, gangs, sex slaves.
wars, murder, genocide, suicide, massacres.
you say we’re all the same, human.
yet you call others monsters.
they aren’t monsters, they just stopped searching for monsters when they realized
the demons were inside all of us.
