Taylor Swift Goes Crazy In New Single
Taylor Swift recently released a new song called “Blank Space”. We truly see that if you breakup with her you will get a song about you, she made that pretty clear in the video. The music video shows that she is not going to be making her typical breakup songs anymore, she is taking it to the extreme.
The music video starts off with her going on romantic dates with her boyfriend. They are young, confused, star crossed lovers. That is until he breaks up with her. Things start to go a little down hill from there. When her now ex-boyfriend gives her the news she turns into a psychopath! Swift throws her ex’s belongings at him, throws them outside, and with her drippy mascara and dark red lipstick melting she repeats: “They’ll tell you I’m insane but I’ve got a blank space baby, and I’ll write your name”.
This new video really did surprise us, even though Swift has a reputation for breakup songs. I think many people who listen to Swift’s songs usually can relate to the break part and the pain she feels, but I wonder if she is trying to influence us with her songs. Whenever someone goes through a breakup, would they actually consider throwing their ex’s belongings at them and creepily following them everywhere reminding them about their breakup? I wouldn’t be surprised if that were to happen in the future, internet has been influencing our actions for the past few years. A few years ago someone started the “Cinnamon Challenge”, it got thousands of people to post videos of themselves trying to swallow ground cinnamon without spitting it out under ten seconds. Hopefully Swift won’t start something like that with her songs.
This new video was really something. In the majority of Swift’s hits it seems like she is mentally stuck in high school, but we love her for that. Swift’s songs are unique and if she stays the way she will be fine.
