Early Outs

Ever wonder what it’s like to get out of school at 1:25p.m.? Well, you’ll find out soon. Tuesday October 16, 2012 thru Thursday October 18, 2012 are Garner’s early release (or early out) days. On these days you get to get out of school two hours early for parent – teacher conferences. Here’s what students have to say about it.

Lina Forero (8) says she likes early outs because, “we get to go home earlier and I can get an extra start on my homework.” Early outs are fun for everyone. Ashlyn Prieto (8) says, “I do vocal warm – ups for the play I’m in, and I try to study for any tests I have.” Early outs are a time where you can spend more time with friends, work on homework or study, and even just relax. Students can’t wait!

Teachers, on the other hand, get to have parent – teacher conferences on these days. Parents can meet with their child’s teacher and discuss grades and behavior.

Early outs also affect the schedule. On Tuesday you go to Testing in Advisory, 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and then 3rd Period. On Wednesday you go to Testing in Advisory, 6th, 7th, 4th, 5ht, and then 8th period. On Thursday you go to Testing in Advisory, 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and then 3rd Period.

This week will be full of fun and learning!
