The Word Students Cringe At

Homework.  A word all students cringe at, but what are the stats behind all this homework. Would students keep homework or get rid of it if they had the choice.

The results are in and it says 56% say no to homework, get rid of it they said. Matthew Palencia (8) says “I wouldn’t keep it because it takes too much time.” 44% said keep homework. Anthony Bahamundi says “keep it because it brings you grades up.”

One thing not to ever do is procrastinate. It never helps. did you know Mac and garner have the same homework schedule, and in Finland they have no homework, can you believe that! Beth Cooper (7 and 8 art) says, “I think to reinforce what they learned in class is very helpful, so I say keep homework.”

Post in the comments what you think.

COSTUME PARTY TIME

It’s getting close to Halloween everyone! Better start shopping for candy, decorations, and Halloween costumes. There are all kinds of costumes from ghouls to army soldiers.

Costumes are great and fun. The best place to get one is the Spirit Halloween store. They have lots of different choices to choose from.

Halloween is a great holiday but it’s not a holiday you get no school on. That really stinks. Halloween isn’t like other holidays because relatives don’t visit. On the bright side , though, you get a lot of candy.

What will you wear on Halloween?

“It’s a day to be different.” says Mrs. Garza, Mrs. Rogers Science helper.

“It’s fun to be someone else for a night,” says Mrs. Zamaripa, Reading teacher.

The Thanksgiving Holiday

Thanksgiving is on November 28 and everybody is excited.  Aren’t you excited, ready to eat tons of food with your friends  and family?  Thanksgiving is a time to be with friends and family. Everybody and anybody who has ever meant something to you probably should be with you on Thanksgiving.

Everybody has different traditions they do on Thanksgiving.  Most families cook a big turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, vegetables, stuffing, ham, pumpkin pie, rolls, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and of course who could forget the gravy.  Thanksgiving isn’t just about eating on a Thursday with people; it’s a day to actually be thankful for what you have. “My family just makes turkey and we ate and then we all watch football, everybody’s there all my closest friends and family”- Harleigh Watson 8th

In 1621 the Plymoth colonists and Indians celebrated the first Thanksgiving.  They were the first people to ever do something like that in celebrating a day and being thankful for everything you have. It wasn’t until 1863 that President Abraham Lincoln announced that Thanksgiving was going to be held each November.

Thanksgiving is many things to different people. Everything is special to us all in many different ways.  This holiday is something you should be happy about.  We have school off and on thanksgiving we all eat a ton of food.
