Tips For The New Year

It’s that time of year again.  No more sleeping late and playing video games until the wee hours.  No more pool time on a Monday morning.  It’s time to focus and be successful.  It’s time to go back to school.

At Garner we have some tips and tricks to help you through your first few days.

1.)  Walk on the right.  It helps everyone move faster without traffic accidents.

2.)  Follow the dress code.  Remember to save you jeans for Friday College shirt days only.

3.) Don’t run to lunch.  Everyone will get fed!

4.)  Treat your peers and teachers with respect.  You will get more if you give more.

5.)  Always have a pencil with a working eraser.  Every class needs one.

6.) Write down your agenda in every class.  It will help you keep up with due dates.

7.) Have fun and be ready to learn.

You will have a great year if you follow our tips and tricks.

Skating Fun

The 6th grade students had a great skate party this year.  Thanks to the Garner PTA, the students made new friends, had a memorable day and bonded as a sixth grade class.  Here are some photos from the evening.

I want to be reported about!

The Garner Gazette follows all FERPA guidelines.  Any student who has privacy settings not allowing their photo, name or work on an Internet site will not be featured in articles on this site.  The exception to this FERPA rule occurs when a public event is taking place.  Any student who attends a public event is in public domain and may have their picture taken.  Public events include sporting events like football games, concerts (band, orchestra, etc.) theatrical plays, public evening assemblies, pep rallies, etc.

If you have an interesting story or something you wish we would report about, please submit the idea to our idea box located in the school’s library.  If you have a story you would like us to post, email it to Mrs. White at awhite2@neisd.net.
