Extraordinary Doors

At GMS students are designing and making the decorations for the holidays. These doors really bring out the holiday spirit. Grades 6-8 are making these doors for different teachers’ doors. The students make these doors as a gift for the teachers and to work in teams.
Each holiday doors has a special theme. For example Mrs. Coble, Mr. Crow’s secretary, wants a dark blue background and a white dove holding an olive tree branch in the symbol of peace.
Jade Brookbank (7) says, “I love it when the doors are up.”
Cody Krywoszej (7) says, “These doors are very creative.” Most of the doors are going to be put up the Friday before Thanksgiving break, so be on the lookout.

Socks on a rampage

this is a group picture of a lot of socks at GMS on crazy sock day.

At GMS people are wearing multicolored high socks. These high socks are a new trend; people wear these socks for comfort in sports or a trendy look for school.
Nike high socks often have padding which makes them very comfortable. They will usually be for basketball or football. The Adidas on the other hand have more of tight fit because they are made for soccer. Cody Krywoszej (7) says, “Nike socks are so comfortable.”
Joey Nowacek (7) says, “Nike makes the socks so padded you don’t have to wear comfort insoles.”
Many people wear these because they are so dang comfortable! The Nike socks have a dry fit and if you start sweating in the socks it will feel dry, you can find them at Academy and Sports Authority and they are priced at 12-15 dollars a pair. They also have a very unique pattern.

Scare Fest

Halloween, a fright fest, of fun and games. The thrill of the costumes and the candy is amazing. The costumes vary. And so does the candy.
The candy is the main priority for the trick or treaters. They bring all kinds of bags varying from pillows to ninja turtle heads. The types of candy most people like are Kit Kat, Twix, snickers and jolly ranchers. Kyle Eakle (7) says his favorite candy is “Jolly Ranchers” and Jade Brookbank (7) says her favorite candy is “M&M’s”.

The most important part about Halloween is the costumes, because that’s your ticket to get candy. The costumes vary from ghosts to zombies. Also it’s like your mask; no one will know it’s you if they can’t see your face.
Also the décor is important. When you walk up to a house you don’t want the house to be boring, you want them to be scary and exciting. Not Just another house.
Cody Kryworzej says that “the biggest and scariest always give out the best candy.
Here are some pictures of the Halloween events.
