Why The Sickness?

Lately many students and teachers are getting sick from the flu, stomach flu, and many more. Texas is the second most sickness place in the U.S. Why is this affecting so many students and teachers? Will they ever get better? I wanted to know if any adult or student knows how to prevent/nurse themselves from getting sick.

I asked an adult; Cindy Hamilton, Why is everyone getting sick? She said “the environment is one reason because the air we breathe, the food you eat, or things you touch can cause sickness. Another reason can be any type of viruses or contagious illnesses we can get from others.” You can see there are many thing that could get you sick.

I asked Karen Mendoza (7) do you think you should stay home. She said, “I should stay home if it’s contagious, but if it’s not then just miss a couple of days of school, but you have to go to school.” (You know if it’s a good idea to go to school but to stay home to keep you from getting sick. But really it’s up to you if you want to stay home.)

You can see how this affects everyone and what they’re doing to stop this. In conclusion there’s many ways you get sick and prevent yourself from getting sick like staying home , washing your hands, using hand sanitizer, not touching anything dirty thing, Etc.

Garner to Mac

Garner 8th graders are going on a field trip to MacArthur High School. It’s their first time going to Mac. You would think it’s just fun but really it’s to prepare them for when they go to Mac next year. Since the 8th graders are the only ones going. I’ve decided to go interview one of the 8th graders to find out their opinion on going to Mac.

Jesus Mendoza (8) says, “I’m looking forward to seeing Mac because it’s going to be my first time going to high school.”

“I’m looking forward to see my other cousins and the new classes that I’m going to be in,” he added.

According to Jesus  he’s excited to go to Mac Arthur for the first time and can’t wait to see what his classes are. I would feel the same way to about going to a new school. Have fun 8th graders.

The Life After School

Many students do different things after school, like doing homework, talking to friends, or even going outside to play. I thought it would be interesting if I asked a student what they do after school, why do they do this activity, and, most importantly, is it fun for this student?

“I play basketball or play video games after school,” Madison Davis (7) says. This student enjoys playing a sport or staying inside and playing a video game.

“I do this on my free time. If I don’t have homework then I either play basketball or video games.” This students takes care of what’s important and if she has spare time, then does two activities.

According to Madison,” Yes it’s fun, because for basketball, I like to run and ball is life. For video games I got inspired by my favorite video game Mind Craft.”

In conclusion this student is active and likes to stay home and play video games. Most of us would like to do this.
