Summertime Fun

Guess what’s coming up, guys and girls? Summer! What are y’all doing this summer? Spending time with family, going out of town, moving in with a friend, going to Six Flags, tanning at the beach, going to parties, summer cleaning, etc… Well whatever you do, live it up, because that’s the whole point of summer!

I interviewed Mercedes Whitby (8) about her summer plans. “This summer I’m going to Warped Tour and All-Stars with my best friends Kassandra, Ivy, Alexia, and Kathleen. It’s going to be so much fun spending my summer with them.” That sounds like fun. Especially since you’re spending it with best friend’s. Other sources I interviewed were Valerie Bustillo (8) & Latisha Talbert (8). “This summer of 2012, I’m going to live it up to the fullest! Going to a lot of parties, and hanging out with all my friends,” says Valerie Bustillo (8). Latisha Talbert (8) said, “Hmm, this summer I’m going to stay at my best friend’s house for probably half of the summer and then go to the beach and spend the rest of my summer with my family.”

Hopefully this summer, everyone enjoys it. I know I will enjoy it and I won’t regret anything.

What are Dreams?

Dreams? What are dreams, you may ask. Dreams are a series of thoughts, images, and/or sensations that occur in a person’s mind during a sleep. Sometimes dreams you have do come true, not all the time, but sometimes if you think about it. Dreams could have varying natures like frightening, exciting, adventurous, etc. Even at times, dreams could make a creative thought that could occur to the person or to give it a sense of inspiration.
I asked Daisy Gonzalez (8) some questions about what she dreams everyday in her classes and any of her other dreams. “I dream about just going home, sleeping on my bed with my doggie. The seats here at school aren’t too comfortable like my bed.” Another source I asked was Adam Guzman (8) who also dreams while at school. “My most recent dream was really just kind of weird, but than it had someone special in my dream, so I really liked it.” Dreams could happen at any time, even if you’re not sleeping. You could have your eyes open and still dream about whatever you dream about.

How do the new students feel about being at Garner and are they fitting in? “Garner is equal to my old school. I’ve made plenty of new friends and it’s pretty good being here. I miss all my old friends but I’m glad I made new ones here,” says Briana Garcia (8), a new student.    “Garner’s big and better than my old school. I’ve made tons of new friends’ and the teachers’ are nice as well. I’m glad to be at Garner,” says news student, Jolissa Lujan (8)
