The Latest in Lady Yearlings Volleyball!

Last week on October 16, 2014, Garner Middle Schools’ very own 7th grade volleyball girls played against Jackson Middle School here at Garner.

Go team and B team won their games, but sadly A team lost.

Avery Dullnig (7) who’s in Go team said “I was scared I wasn’t going to make the ball over the net, and that I was going to let my team down.”

Katya Rodriguez (7) said “It felt really awesome to win a game.

The Jaguars were very tough to beat I’ve heard. Thank goodness our ladies could take it.

The next volleyball game will be held here at Garner Middle School.  We will be going against Driscoll Middle school. Go team girls will play at 4:30 p.m., B team girls will play at 5:30 p.m., and A team girls will play at 6:30 p.m.

Good luck ladies! Hope to see everyone there!

Let’s Go Lady Yearlings!

“This picture really describes my life. I love volleyball so much, its surreal,” Abigail Burns (7) stated. Abigail is setting the volleyball so her teammate can spike it over the net. This event occurred at Garner’s volleyball game against Jackson on October 16, 2014. This event took place on Garner’s newest gymnasium. “I love doing what I do best,” Abigail said.

Let’s Go B-team!

The volleyball B team tournament for the 7th graders happened this past weekend. Luckily the B team won at Krueger Middle School. Before the tournament some Lady Yearlings had a couple of thoughts.

Savanna Del Toro (7) let all the fellow B team Lady Yearlings know that it’s just a game and to not take the game too seriously.

Another thought on the court was from Abby Burns (7), who stated just to think about a regular Garner game because all (except for 1) of the B team games at Garner were wins.

But at the end of the last game the other team won so they had to do an overtime 3rd game. Luckily the Lady Yearlings pulled out their big guns and showed Jackson who’s boss by taking the trophy home.

This would affect the B team in the future in a good way, because if the Lady Yearlings remember to pull through even after they lose a game then they’ll be able to persevere in the future.
