Paranormal Activity 2 Preview: The Return of Cameras In the Bedroom

Tony Johnson, Arts & Entertainment Editor

Whether or not audiences found the first Paranormal Activity scary throughout the whole film, everyone shrieked at the ending, which left viewers terrified and wanting more. Paranormal Activity 2 is confident that it will satisfy fans of the original’s wish by leaving out the “Demand It” system that allowed those curious of the first film to demand it to arrive to their city and expand wide. Paranormal Activity 2 is solely betting on their creepy marketing campaign, displaying brief but spooky commercials on TV as well as online. With the original’s director, Oren Peli, now sitting in the producer’s chair, critics and horror fanatics alike are curious to see whether director Tod Williams’ follow up will live up to the hype and stay as hauntingly realistic as its predecessor. Though we have an idea of what’s going to make us scream, there are sure to be plenty of surprises, with viewers from special pre-screenings already saying “It’s an ending you have to see to believe.” Will this sequel be as innovative and terrifying as the first, or is this just a silly update that wants to lead up to 16 installments? Find out Friday morning with our full review.
