Football game called for bomb threat

by Nick Casarez | sports editor

Saturday night marked the beginning of district play for the Johnson Jaguars, as they took on the MacArthur Brahmas.

However the game wasn’t what was going to be remembered about that night. At the end of the third quarter the game was called and the students, fans, and players were asked to evacuate Comalander Stadium due to an apparent bomb threat that was called in on the sports complex.

The gym also had to be evacuated, even though Churchill High School was in the midst of their homecoming (no worries they’re working on rescheduling).

NEISD hasn’t released much information regarding the event, but no explosives were found and it seems there was no merit to the threat and no one was harmed on Saturday night……except MacArthur’s football team.  Johnson was up at the end of the third quarter and the final quarter will resume tonight.  Fans that can make it are invited to attend free of charge.
