Area track is being implemented for the first time this year and features the top four competitors in each track event from district . In this competition it is district versus district. This is very intense because their are only finals and the trip to Regionals is on the line.

The area meet will be held at Comalander stadium this year.

“The team and I are working out hard in practice and eating well in preparation for the meet,” freshman Rachel Poe said. “I have also been preparing myself emotionally, mentally,  and physically in order to come out strong.”

The Area meet will take place on April 18 and 19. This meet has been highly anticipated and shouldn’t disappoint. The Jags are representing the 26-5A district and will be up against a new type of competition.

“I have been going to practice and with making it to state  last year I feel prepared for area,” senior Cameron Williams said. “It’s going to be a good matchup at area because there are some competitors who are quite the fast.”

The team has been training hard and have high expectations that they will be in Regionals, despite the fact that the Area meet is new.

“I am looking forward to moving on to Regionals and then to our ultimate goal of State,” senior Quinlan Wright said.
