Juniors, seniors already counting down to April prom

Prom is still a few months away, yet many students are already preparing for it. From dress shopping to buying decorations people are already ready to make this year’s Prom experience one to remember. Students are not only prepping for prom, but prepping for the fun memories they will want to look back on.

“Prom is Saturday April 13; this year the theme is Crimson Night which is inspired by the color red. Our tickets go on sale Tuesday March 5 and we’re gonna sell them all the way to the day before prom which is Friday April, 12,” junior class sponsor Daniel Farias said.

As prom comes closer and closer juniors and seniors are ready to make the night special when it comes.

“I think it’s important because it’s one of those high school memories that you’ve always looked forward to when you were younger and it’s also fun to look back on all the pictures and stuff with your friends,” senior Maddie Grimm said.

The sentiment of prom is important to many. Some students have even already purchased their prom attire months in advance.

“I actually already got my dress in December. Last year I got it in November,” senior Kyra Rose said.

The planning that goes into making a prom night perfect takes more time than you might think – at least for prom obsessed teens.

“Me and my friends always have a get ready party so right now we’re working on deciding what restaurant we want to go to, and we always have prom at my house so my mom is thinking of decorations. We decorate, we get balloons, we get desserts,” Rose said.

Prom is a memorable experience, but it’s even better with friends. Dances only happen twice a year for juniors and seniors so it’s important for them to make the most of it now.

“I just like having fun with my friends, and I feel like the best part of prom is getting ready and we only get this once a year, and then we have homecoming but it’s really special for juniors and seniors,” Rose said.

For seniors this is their last night to go out with a bang.

“I don’t think in college we’ll have much of this so we have to enjoy it while we can and enjoy as much time with our friends as we can because we’re all gonna go to different places after we graduate,” Rose said
