In all of the excess free time, students are finding new ways to entertain themselves if they don’t enjoy the movie.
Graduation is just around the corner, and after you walk that stage its kumbaya to the current crew. So what comes next? For some it’s an independent road but for others it’s a transition to some of the most well renowned Greek sororities and fraternities Universities have to offer.
An actor has been hiding in our midst. Working as a substitute teacher and calling students “little brother” or “little sister,” David Mooney doesn’t speak much about his acting career, but he has many stories to tell.
“My mother had been a singer and all that so she encouraged me. I was always I guess a drama king or something, you know. I guess my mother thought I was a little over the top, so she encouraged me to be interested in the art,” Mooney said. “And she had a lovely voice, but she never pursued it so she kind of encouraged me to pursue it.”

Excluding National Honor Society (NHS), there are approximately six honor societies on campus. These include National French Honor Society (NFHS), National Spanish Honor Society (NSHS), National Art Honor Society (NAHS), National Science Honor Society (NSHS), Quill and Scroll: International Honorary Society for high school Journalists, and the newly formed National English Honor Society (NEHS).
The clubs at Johnson High School offer many opportunities for our students. Starting freshman year, these are the clubs anyone is welcome to join.
As with any school, many students at Johnson are not getting enough sleep because of coursework, extracurriculars, and general afterschool activities.
