Every year the football team plays the annual homecoming game. This years game will be against district foe Churchill with the jags having a chance to improve their record to 5-1.
Everybody remembers their gawky, 14 year-old selves pushing through those Johnson doors for the very first time, trying so hard to hide that first day confusion. But thanks to the wisdom of an older class, Johnson seniors have established “Senior Mentors” in order to aid freshmen in their first year of high school.
As he sits there, looking at the stocks before him, he knows this skill could be very valuable later in his life. After thinking it over, senior Chase Allen decides which stock he wants to trade, and with whom. Unlike the majority of teenagers, who spend their time trying to finish their English essay or tweeting to their best friend after school.
Johnson football games are always a memorable experience for students and fans. And now that some new rules have been put in place, the experience can be more enjoyable and safer as well.
Johnson high school may not have a wild buffalo named Ralphie, charge the football field before a home game or a giant “GO BLUE” banner that the players touch before they take the field. However, Johnson sports has their own special traditions and superstitions to follow.

Last year Johnson comfortably defeated the Harlingen Cardinals 36-0 on the road. This year the Jaguars defeated the Cardinals once again by the score of 35-23 after a summer of working hard and preparing for the upcoming season. The next game for Johnson was against the Brandeis Broncos, who defeated the Jaguars 30-13 in last year's matchup. This years team was looking for revenge, but fell short, losing 68-53.
In addition to being nationally ranked for gymnastics, Stanley has also managed to stay in the top ten percentile of her junior class and maintain a GPA of 104.
