With the new school year starting up and students getting a feel for the hallways again, teachers are taking initiative to make sure students spend more time in the classroom and not in the hallways.
Although NEISD does not allow students to go off campus for lunch due to liability issues, other San Antonio school districts such as NISD do. NISD’s off campus lunch policies have sparked rising controversy with the recent Brandeis high school student accident incident. However, NISD has not changed its off campus lunch policy despite the student car accident taking place during lunch time.
Today’s technology is skyrocketing and inevitably being brought into the classrooms. Recently, students have been using their phones for more than just a device to pass the time with Angry Birds and to text their friends.
